Veikkaus, Finland’s state-owned gambling operator, has continued to restructure its internal organisation in preparation for the country’s newly liberalised gambling market, which will open on 1 July 2027. 

The reshuffle aims to strengthen the company’s competitive capabilities amid evolving market conditions.

The latest round of changes, announced on Wednesday, includes 15 existing roles being terminating, and 17 new positions established. These will impact several of its units, including the Data & AI department, two business units and finance teams.

The two companies began collaborating in November 2025. As part of the deal, Polymarket provided data for a dedicated prediction market section on Yahoo Finance. The feature provided market-based probabilities of economic, political, and financial developments alongside Yahoo Finance content. 

The Yahoo Finance prediction market section was taken out in April. The companies have now confirmed that the larger deal is also off, as reported by Bloomberg. 

Yahoo said Polymarket is still an advertising partner and suggested the two could collaborate on other projects in the future. Polymarket has not provided any public explanation for the end of the data partnership.

At the same time, 14 players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball, which netted them tier three prizes. As a result, 8 players won $50,000 each, while the remaining 6 took home $100,000 each instead, thanks to Power Play.

With no jackpot win materializing, the game’s top prize has continued to grow, reaching $332 million ahead of the Wednesday drawing. A hypothetical winner would be able to either claim the annuity option for the full sum or the one-time lump sum option of $141.7 million.

The same drawing also saw 30 players win tier-three prizes. Of these, 23 won $50,000 each, while the remaining 7 won $100,000 each thanks to Power Play.
